The natural sciences department immortalized and synthesized all the distinctive elements of the flora and fauna of the Danube Delta.
The origin and development of the Danube Delta - a young, constantly forming territory with little geological and paleontological evidence to establish its antiquity - are inferred from historical accounts and maps, starting from the descriptions of Herodotus, Polybius and Pliny the Elder, to Ptolemy's map, the Tabula Peutingeriana, and the hypotheses of researchers who studied the area.
By means of biogroups and dioramas, more than two-thirds of the 300 species of birds and mammals that populate the delta in different seasons are presented in their natural environment. Also highlighted are floodplains, floodplains, reeds and reeds, beams and platforms with all their distinctive and dominant features.
In an aquarium, the fish diversity of the Delta lakes and surrounding marshes is illustrated, from sturgeon to freshwater species.
