The Coliboaia Cave is located at 560 m altitude, just 120 m upstream from the Măgura Cave, on the right slope of the Sighishtel Valley. Both caves are accessible by the same route.
A. Schmidl was the first researcher of the Coliboaia Cave in 1863, noting only the existence of the Măgura Cave portal, but exploring the Coliboaia Cave.
The entrance to the cave, 2 m high, is located on a gravel slope leading to a hall 15 m wide and 40 m long, followed by a rectilinear gallery. A stream of water runs through the gallery, coming from an impenetrable siphon and having two additional siphon points. The stream disappears and reappears, feeding a burst below the cave entrance. Concretions are present in the last third of the gallery. The cave has a total length of 750 m.
Being an active cave, the visit requires appropriate equipment: overalls, rubber boots and a speleological ladder to overcome the second siphon.
