It is the only monastery in the Metropolitanate of Moldavia and Bucovina dedicated to this saint. The construction of the monastery took place in the year 2000, in an area called Cireșoaia, in the western part of the Poieni neighborhood, at an altitude of 600 meters, being located on the same level line as the Măgura Ocnei Monastery.
The monastery was built with the aim of honoring and maintaining the cult of heroes from the Cireșoaia area. The name Cireșoaia is associated with the memory of the battles fought by the 27th Bacău Infantry Regiment and with the glorious attacks of the Mountain Hunters during the First World War.
