Built in 1914 according to the designs of the French architect Théophile Bradeau, the Hotel Athénée Palace suffered bombing in 1944.

It was rebuilt in 1945 under the guidance of the architect Duiliu Marcu, and the expansion in 1964 increased the capacity of this luxury hotel.
