The palace was built at the end of the 19th century by the deputy Nicolae Cesianu. In the interwar period, the building was the headquarters of the German legation in Bucharest.
During the Second World War, the palace was run by Baron Manfred von Killinger, the ambassador of Nazi Germany in Romania. Von Killinger committed suicide in the headquarters of the legation in Bucharest, on the day Romania turned its arms against Germany.
After the war, the building was confiscated by the communist regime and became the Constantin Tănase Magazine Theatre. Later, it was transformed into Casino Victoria.
In 2006, the building was claimed by the German Embassy in Bucharest. In 2017, the building and the related land were bought by the Belgian real estate developer Atenor, which started an office construction project. In 2022, the project was completed and sold to the Pavăl brothers, the owners of Dedeman.
The building is currently known as "Dacia One" and is used as office space.
