In 1990, the Giulești Theater, founded in 1946 under the name of the Giulești Workers' Theater, changed its name to the Odeon Theatre. Sala Majestic is one of the most elegant theaters in Bucharest and one of the few in Europe with a sliding ceiling.

The theater building was inaugurated on December 25, 1911, being built at the initiative of Emil Lahovari according to the plans of the architect Grigore Cerchez.
