Viscri maintains a complete and extraordinarily well-preserved ensemble of rural architecture characteristic of the area, offering a true picture of the beginning of the 19th century. Because of its historical cultural value, the village center and the fortified church were included in 1999 on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.
