Built by the inhabitants of the Brickmakers quarter, with no professionals involved. After a fire in 1922, it was radically rebuilt, in 1922-1930, with the support of the Royal House, to the designs of the architects lon D. Traianescu, Duiliu Marcu and engineer Aurel Beleş. Frescoes executed by painter Dimitrie Belizarie, iconostasis and pews sculpted by C. M. Babic.
