Constantin Kirițescu was a Romanian zoologist and historian, the author of the book "History of the War for the Unification of Romania, 1916-1919".

Kirițescu was born in Bucharest in 1876 and died in 1965. He was a witness to some major events in Romanian history, including the Unification of 1918 and the establishment of the communist regime after 1945.

As a zoologist, Kirițescu was a pioneer of herpetological research in Romania. He discovered several new species of reptiles and amphibians, including the "sand boa" from Dobrogea.

Kirițescu was also a history buff and publicist. He wrote a series of books and articles on Romanian history, education and other subjects.

His book "History of the war for the unification of Romania, 1916-1919" is considered one of the most important works of Romanian history from the 20th century.
